How to use the PDF to Word converter

  1. Choose a PDF file.
  2. Pick Editable text for normal PDFs (reports, contracts, letters) or Page images for scans and complex layouts.
  3. Click Convert to Word and open the .docx in Word, LibreOffice or Google Docs.

Editable mode rebuilds paragraphs, headings, bold and italic text and font sizes from the PDF so you can edit the wording; tables, columns and images may need some tidying afterwards. Page-image mode gives a pixel-perfect copy of every page inside Word, ideal for scanned documents (combine it with our OCR tool to get the text). Your document is never uploaded.

FAQ

Will the layout be exactly the same?

Text mode keeps the content and basic formatting but not the exact positions of every element. Use page-image mode when the look matters more than editing.

Can it convert scanned PDFs?

Scans contain pictures, not text. Use page-image mode, or run our Image to Text tool for OCR.
