How to use the XML formatter

  1. Paste XML — a config file, sitemap, RSS feed, SOAP response or SVG.
  2. Click Format to validate it and indent every element, or Minify to remove whitespace between tags.
  3. Copy the result or download it as an .xml file.

If the XML is broken (an unclosed tag, a stray ampersand) you get the parser’s error message instead of a mangled result. Comments, CDATA sections, processing instructions and attributes are preserved exactly; short text elements stay on one line for readability.
