How to use the word wrap text tool

  1. Paste the text.
  2. Set the maximum line width — e.g. 72 for e-mail, 80 for code comments, 40 for SMS-style columns.
  3. Copy the wrapped text. Use Unwrap to join hard-wrapped lines back into paragraphs.

Plain-text e-mails, README files, code comments, subtitles and printed labels often need a fixed line length. Paragraphs (blank lines) are kept; add a prefix like “>” for quoted e-mail replies or “//” for code comments.
