How to use the unicode character lookup

  1. Paste text — a word with strange spacing, an emoji, a symbol you want to identify.
  2. Each character is listed with its code point (U+…), type, script, UTF-8 bytes and HTML entity.
  3. Invisible characters like zero-width spaces and non-breaking spaces are highlighted.

Hidden characters break code, passwords, CSV imports and search; look-alike letters (Latin “a” vs Cyrillic “а”) cause confusing bugs and phishing domains. This inspector shows exactly what is in the text. Emoji with skin tones show up as several code points — that is normal.
