How to use the typing speed test
- Choose a test length.
- Click the box and type the highlighted words, pressing space after each one.
- Your speed (WPM) and accuracy appear as you type and at the end.
WPM uses the standard definition of five characters per word, counting only correctly typed words. Average adults type about 40 WPM; 60+ is fast and 80+ is professional level. Practise a few minutes a day without looking at the keyboard and accuracy first — speed follows.
