How to use the placeholder image generator

  1. Set the width and height or click a preset (Open Graph, square, story, banner ad sizes).
  2. Choose colours and optional text — by default it shows the size.
  3. Download as PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG.

Designers and developers use placeholder images while the real photos are not ready: in website mock-ups, app prototypes, slide templates and when testing image upload limits. Because they are generated on your device, they work offline and never depend on an external placeholder service.
