How to use the online guitar tuner

  1. Choose your instrument and click Start tuner; allow microphone access.
  2. Pluck one string and let it ring. The nearest string note is shown with a needle.
  3. Tighten or loosen the string until the needle is in the green middle and it says “In tune”.

Standard tunings for guitar (E A D G B E), bass, ukulele (G C E A) and violin are built in, and chromatic mode works for any instrument or voice. For best results, tune in a quiet room and hold the phone or laptop close to the instrument. Sound is analysed live on your device — nothing is recorded.
