How to use the EXIF viewer

  1. Choose a JPG photo straight from your phone or camera.
  2. See the camera model, lens, date taken, exposure settings and GPS position.
  3. If there is a location, decide whether to strip it before sharing.

Phones save hidden EXIF data in every photo — including the exact GPS coordinates of your home when you take a picture there. This viewer reads it locally, so the photo itself is never uploaded. Photographers can also check shutter speed, aperture, ISO and focal length of any shot. Most social networks remove EXIF on upload, but e-mail, cloud links and many messengers keep it.
