How to use the HTTP status code list

  1. Type a status code (e.g. 503) or a word like redirect or timeout.
  2. Read what it means and the typical cause.
  3. Colours show the group: success, redirect, client error, server error.

Status codes tell you why a page did or did not load. For SEO, use 301 for permanent moves and 410 for deliberately removed pages; a long-lasting 5xx can make search engines drop pages. Cloudflare-specific 52x codes are included because they are common on sites behind a CDN.
