How to use the fuel cost calculator

Enter the distance and tick “Return trip” if you are coming back.
Enter your car’s consumption (L/100 km, MPG or kWh/100 km for electric cars) and the fuel price.
See the trip cost and the share for each passenger.

Use it to plan a road trip, agree a fair car-pool share or compare petrol, diesel and electric running costs. UK and US gallons are different (4.55 L vs 3.79 L), so pick the right MPG type. Real consumption is usually higher in city traffic, in winter and at motorway speeds.
