How to use the excel to json converter

  1. Open an XLSX, XLS, ODS or CSV file.
  2. Choose the sheet and the output shape — objects keyed by the header row, or plain arrays.
  3. Copy the JSON or download it as a .json file.

Developers and no-code builders often need spreadsheet data as JSON: for an API mock, a website, a chatbot or a database import. The first row of the sheet becomes the property names and every following row becomes one object. Dates are written in ISO format and empty cells become empty strings, so every object has the same keys. Need the opposite direction? Use our JSON to CSV tool and open the result in Excel.
